YEMEN. PRO BALL. NBA DREAMS & AN A**HOLE GUIDANCE COUNSELOR

1999 My father uprooted us from our home and moved us to Yemen to learn the other side of our culture. A young basketball prodigy, I starred on Yemen’s National Team at just 16 years old helping the country win a few notable regional tournaments and earning our team a trip to the West Asian Mens Basketball Championships (WABA Championship) in  Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was time to prepare for college. I wanted to be a lawyer or something “successful” to please my parents but when I told my guidance counselor I had big dreams she basically laughed at me and attempted to guide me to more “head out of the clouds type of careers.”

I DROPPED OUT OF COLLEGE.

I had big dreams of playing NCAA basketball and making “the league” and impressing my parents by attending a big school but they were quickly shattered when I learned I was ineligible because I got paid to play overseas. I enrolled and took a few college courses and quickly realized that the system was flawed and just wasn’t right for me. My parents were especially pissed off when I decided to pursue a career in music. Were my high school counselors words coming true?

In 2005 I got signed to an up and coming record label just out of Detroit, Michigan but the business side of things didn’t add up to me and I walked away. Some of my friends were hustlers and tried to bring me into the life to make money. I didn’t feel right making money that way so walked away. Most of my other friends at this time were graduating college and I have to tell you I was a little jealous and starting to feel like failure. I moved to NYC because I needed to change my life and change it FAST.

MOVED TO RHODE ISLAND. GOT MARRIED. STARTED FIRST BUSINESS.

I worked 5 hours a day as a personal trainer at New York Health and Racquet Club in the morning and 12 hours a day driving a yellow cab at night. I met my the love of my life, my wife, Maya on MySpace and moved to Rhode Island to be closer to her and her family. We got married in 2009. I worked 15 hours a day as a pizza delivery driver trying to make ends meet but in 2012 I found out our first baby was on the way. I knew it was time to step up my game. I had a gum ball machine route that didn’t work. I tried vending machines even refurbished ATM’s that I found on craigslist. Eventually I convinced the owner of the pizza shop to let me rent out the other 1/2 of his shop and turn it into a smoothie shop that I named Shake It Up Nutrition. I began learn about and invest my profits into the stock market.

A little after our first child Gabriel was born in 2012 I shut down my smoothie shop and quit my pizza delivery job. It wasn’t long before I turned $7000 into a cool $45,000 in the market investing in and out of volatile liquid penny stocks.
As a rookie I took my fair share of hits and before I knew it I was almost back where I started. Being a beginner I had a lot to learn and I needed to find a mentor to speed up my learning curve. I met the owner of a big stock market website and convinced him to take me under his wing. Over the next 2 years I went from a complete novice to being one of the best marketers and lead generators in the entire stock game and learned the markets inside and out.

REVOLUTIONIZING FB MARKETING. MY FIRST MILLION. SELLING MY 7 FIGURE SOCIAL MEDIA BUSINESS.

At 2am on a cold winter night doing some research I came across an inspiring story about a viral marketer that made $100,000 in just 1 week on Facebook. At the time I didn’t even have a FB account but I knew this is what I wanted to do. I immediately became obsessed with learning the business and jumped into action. Everyone I told about my idea laughed at & dismissed me saying I could never compete with TMZ & other major publications and that I would need millions of dollars to get started. Boy did I prove them wrong!
Over the next 2 years I took $15,000 and turned it into nearly $3,100,000 by building one of the largest social media influencer arb networks in the World.
I also built an Alexa top 5000 celebrity news website that generated nearly 1 million visits per day.
My partners and clients at the time consisted of Neil Patel, Tony Deniro, Ne-Yo, Meek Mill, Eddie Griffin, Ray J, Brandy, LisaRaye McCoy, Yandy Smith, Trina and many more. I sold my business to former execs of MySpace in 2016. The celebration didn’t last long though because 1 week after the sale of my company I learned my mother had stage 4 ovarian cancer.

ROCK BOTTOM. I LOST EVERYTHING. MY MOTHERS MIRACLE.

In the first 2 months of 2017 I had already flipped a portion of my social media profits into a little over a million dollars in profits. My net worth was at an all time high but my happiness in life was at an all time low because of my mother. I was in a very vulnerable position.
One of my very close (ex) friends solicited me to invest in a “life changing education investment” that could potentially retire my whole family forever. From the outside the investment seemed solid. The board consisted of some very famous and reputable people so I went in heavy after a few calls and visits with the company I went virtually “ALL IN.”
The company ended up being an elaborate Chinese/American scam and I lost nearly all of my money. I remember early in the year being at the hospital with my mom looking at my bank account praying to God to take it all away in exchange for keeping my mother alive.
Well the impossible happened. MY MOTHER BEAT CANCER! She also told me success was not luck but it was ME. If I could achieve it once then I certainly could achieve it again and that “Anything’s Possible!” See life is 10% what happens to you and 90% how you react to it. Losers make excuses. Winners dig deep and find solutions. I took these thoughts and principles with me into 2018 with a whole new vengeance hungrier than ever…

I BUILT 3 7 FIGURE BUSINESSES, HAD 2 MORE KIDS AND AM BACK BETTER THAN EVER.

Over the next 2 years I built 3 more 7 figure businesses and Co-Founded 2 multi million dollar startups in the education and lifestyle spaces. The businesses that I solely founded and built were: A social media business that produced $200,000 a month, a viral e-commerce store that did nearly 2 million dollars in sales in its first 4 months and a multi million dollar consulting business all while compounding profits in the market. In 2019-2020 I began consulting, mentoring and coaching hundreds of students to master their mindsets, online businesses and the stock market. In September 2020 my wife and fellow consultant Maya gave birth to our 6th child. Life Is Good.

2020 brought out the hustler in most of us. The World as we knew it changed forever. Many of us were forced to evolve, work from home and even start up our own businesses to take care of our families. In 2021 I expect more people than ever before to take a crack at entrepreneurship and not all of them will succeed.
